A year on from its acquisition, the distinct brand of display industry specialist DSCC is to disappear into that of its new parent, Counterpoint Research. The firm told clients the changes would be 'cosmetic', with content and analyst team focus remaining the same.
Counterpoint's studies cover b2b supply-side markets for semiconductors, components and manufacturing, as well as smartphones, consumer electronics, PCs, servers, networks, automotive, industrial and other connected end markets on the demand side. In December 2023 the firm acquired digital display industry specialist DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants). Both firms were fast-growing at the time, and DSCC co-founder and CEO Ross Young said that access to Counterpoint's sales data would help refine DSCC's near-term forecasts, 'drive innovation and ultimately enhance the content we provide to our clients'. Young (pictured), now VP at Counterpoint, told partner firms in an email this week that from now on DSCC would 'officially be wearing the Counterpoint brand' but reassured that the changes would be limited to 'logos and colors'.
