Funds for Restaurant Data Firm Boostly

February 17 2025

US company Boostly, which provides automated SMS marketing and feedback solutions for restaurants, has raised $22m in a Series A round, with which to further develop its offer and accelerate its expansion.

Shane MurphyThe company is headquartered in Lehi, Utah, and was founded in 2017 by restaurant software veterans Shane and Mikey Murphy. Its SMS-based platform uses behavior-based marketing and gamified experiences to drive customer engagement and revenue, with solutions including SMS campaigns, automated phone assistants and real-time feedback monitoring. The firm says its marketing approach, based on the 'vast amounts' of valuable first-party customer data that restaurants accumulate through daily operations, delivers engagement rates 'ten times higher than standard text marketing offers' for its more than 1,200 restaurant location customers in the US and Canada.

The round was led by PeakSpan Capital with participation from existing investors Y Combinator, Trestle Partners and Singularity Capital, and comes just six months after a $5.6m Seed round. PeakSpan co-founder and Managing Partner Matt Melymuka will join Boostly's Board of Directors.

CEO Shane Murphy (pictured) comments: 'Restaurant owners are among the hardest working individuals in our country, managing operations while actively working alongside their staff everyday. They need a marketing system that operates on autopilot, provides clear ROI, and makes their life simple. We've gamified the SMS marketing experience in order to produce exponentially more engagement and revenue than traditional marketing options available to restaurant owners. Our success is directly tied to our customers' success, and our platform is designed to provide rocket fuel that helps them grow'.
