Discuss Launches Three New AI Agents

February 27 2025

End-to-end research platform Discuss has unveiled three new AI agents promising 'always-on', in-depth market insights focused on understanding emotional connections with consumers.

Jilleun EglinSeattle-based Discuss offers the People Experience Platform, an enterprise-level consumer conversation platform combining video with qual research workflow and including auto-created screening questionnaires, video highlight reels and discussion guide suggestions. In 2023 it launched AI-based solution called Genie, which carries out qualitative MR admin tasks such as creating summary reports from hours of interviews - and has been upgraded every quarter since.

Discuss says that while traditional 'live, human-led research' is 'still an invaluable element of the greater research strategy', AI Agents offer a new alternative and the chance of better, faster customer or user experience feedback. The three new arrivals are Interview Agent, which promises to engage respondents 'in natural conversations, in their native tongue, dynamically probing for deeper feedback'; Translate Agent, which offers GenAI-powered English translations for live, unmoderated and uploaded research in more than 100 countries, together with English-translated subtitles embedded on every recording and clip; and Insights Agent, with the ability to analyse a mass of unmoderated feedback alongside live and uploaded research, and provide segmentations and other outputs.

Jilleun Eglin (pictured), Senior Director of Product, at Discuss says the firm is 'shaping a new way to understand people': 'Our AI Agents are empowering teams to build deep emotional connections with their target audiences at a speed and scale that's never been possible before. And we also know that innovation requires responsibility - that's why this releasse is as much about data privacy as it is about groundbreaking AI'.

Discuss says the latest upgrades include new centralized privacy controls allowing users to automatically apply PII settings, such as pseudonyms for respondent anonymization, across all projects, eliminating tthe risk of non-compliance with complex data privacy regulations; and a blur recording feature with flexible settings to control the visibility of shared stimuli, shared screens, and mobile screen shares - for example, a researcher can unblur a product prototype shown during a session to analyze reactions while still keeping participant identities hidden.
