Entertainment Research Firm BB Media Acquired

In Los Angeles, entertainment industry data and operations solutions firm Fabric has acquired BB Media, an MR company also focused on the sector. Fabric aims to provide a 'complete, connected and actionable data ecosystem' for media and entertainment clients. Terms were not disclosed.

Rob DelfFabric helps broadcasters, studios, distributors, producers and media organizations to match content with audiences, and offers solutions for supply chain management and workflow, as well as management of identification, editorial, technical, discovery and AI-generated metadata. Data science firm BB Media was founded in the late 1980s and now monitors more than 4,500 streaming services across 250 countries and territories, including their prices, plans, bundles and commercial offers; as well as all movie and series catalogues.

Adding BB Media's audience analytics and market intelligence expertise will enhance the Fabric Origin system, combining clients' libraries with measurement data for insights into market trends and content availability worldwide, helping to spot opportunities and make better distribution decisions. Another solution is Fabric Studio, which centralizes metadata management: integrating BB Media's insights with this promises enhanced discoverability, automation and data accuracy. Fabric will combine its own AI-powered tools with BB's industry expertise for a best-of-both-worlds offer.

Fabric CEO Rob Delf (pictured) says the buys aligns perfectly with the company's vision 'to create a seamless data ecosystem that evolves with customers' needs', and adds: 'With BB Media joining the Fabric family, we are expanding our capabilities to ensure media companies have access to the most comprehensive and actionable data available'.
