Comscore Full Year Revenue Down 4.1%

March 4 2025

Comscore has reported revenue down 4.1% to to $356.0m for the year ended December 31st 2024. Profit also declined slightly - FX adjusted EBITDA was $40.9m vs $46.9m the previous year. Fourth quarter revenue was flat and the company is forecasting a slight increase in 2025.

Jon CarpenterIn the full year, the firm made a net loss of $60.2m compared to $79.4m in 2023, with both figures largely the result of non-cash goodwill impairment charges. The company is forecasting a slight uptick in revenue in 2025 to between $360m and $370m. CEO Jon Carpenter (pictured) says of the results: 'We made solid progress in Q4 to establish Comscore as a leading source for cross-platform planning and measurement. Our cross-platform audience solution, Proximic, continued to accelerate, and our cross-platform measurement products also scaled nicely within programmatic advertising environments as we came down the stretch in 2024. We believe this progress and the leadership additions we've made in recent months position us well for growth in 2025'.

Cross-platform Content & Ad Measurement revenue grew 21.7% in Q4, partly offset by lower revenue from syndicated audience offerings, primarily related to national TV and syndicated digital products. Research & Insight Solutions revenue declined 6.5% from Q4 2023, mainly due to a decline in some custom digital products.

For the year as a whole, Content & Ad Measurement revenue declined 2.8%, driven by lower revenue from syndicated audience offerings, and only partially offset by a 19.7% increase in cross-platform revenue. Research & Insight Solutions revenue declined 10.6% from 2023, with custom digital declines again the driver.

Comscore's revenue has declined from a high of $419.5m for the full year 2018. Adjusted EBITDA was $95.0m in 2015, but was wiped out in 2017 and relatively low in 2018 ($16.4m profit) and 2019 ($6.2m profit) - the last couple of years have shown a marked improvement.
