Funds and Launches for Chip Market Intell Firm
March 20 2025
New York-based Silicon Data, which provides real-time pricing intelligence, sustainability insights and performance benchmarking tools for GPU platforms, has raised $4.7m in seed funding and launched four new measurement and reporting tools.
The firm aggregates millions of market data points covering come 50 GPU chipsets and platforms, to provide market intelligence for the 'compute' industry. The four new solutions are:
- SiliconNavigator - a GPU pricing and market intelligence platform
- SiliconMark - a benchmarking solution measuring GPU performance degradation over time
- Silicon PriceIQ - tapping AI for GPU pricing optimization and predictive analytics, and
- SiliconCarbon, a real-time carbon footprint calculator for compute workflows.
The round was led by DRW and Jump Trading Group, with participation from other strategic investors, and will be used for product expansion, especially for the middle two tools above; the expansion of the firm's partnerships with cloud providers, exchanges and enterprises; and to boost global market penetration - increasing adoption across the AI, HPC and finance sectors.
CEO Carmen Li (pictured) comments: 'The demand for compute continues to accelerate as this once-in-a-generation technology grows. With the backing of DRW, Jump Trading Group, and our other investors, we are scaling our vision for a more transparent and efficient compute market'. Li says the firm's data aggregating capabilities open up the 'very real# potential for the development of 'compute market indices - which would track the price performance of a basket of GPU platforms in a similar fashion to a traditional financially settled commodity index'.
