Firefish Bus Dev Leader Hill Moves to The Mix

March 26 2025

In London, Firefish veteran Martyn Hill has joined insight and cultural intelligence agency The Mix, as Head of Business Development.

Martyn HillThe Mix, which also has offices in New York, describes its focus as 'making insights famous for the world's leading brands' - developing the discipline as an engine of growth rather than a risk mitigation tool.

Hill (pictured) spent eighteen years at Firefish, the last fifteen of them in a Business Development role, after starting as a researcher. As leader of the Bus Dev function in recent years he has helped the firm launch new offices, grow accounts, bring in new ones and promote itself - including a presence at events and conferences. In his new role he will lead the growth of The Mix's business globally, bridging sales and marketing, and amplifying the impact of the work it does for its clients.

Hill says he has 'followed The Mix's journey for many years now' and that 'when the call came, I knew I had to answer'.

New York-based co-founder Tash Walker comments 'When we were looking for someone to lead the Business Development team globally, Martyn was one of the first people that came to mind. From my years of working with BD people when I was in the worlds of design, brand strategy and advertising - as well as in insight - I know it takes a specific personality and a level of passion and energy to be great at it. So many people I spoke to said he would be the perfect fit and I am so glad he chose to make the leap to us as we go out to tell more of the world about our unique strategically-driven and creatively-charged business'.
