CivicScience Appoints President and COO

In the US, CivicScience has appointed media and banking exec Gretchen Tibbits as President and Chief Operating Officer.

CivicScience is a consumer analytics and advertising platform which uses a proprietary data collection engine to capture over one million survey responses each day, for a real-time understanding of consumer wants, needs and intentions. This feeds an attitudinal database which informs clients' advertising, communications, product and financial strategies. The company has offices in Pittsburgh and New York.

Tibbits (pictured) will be responsible for the company's operations and lead all commercial-facing teams across data-driven advertising, media partnerships, consumer data and insights, and audience activation and measurement. She brings to the role more than 25 years of financial, executive and operational experience in the media industry, most recently from leading the Media and Entertainment practices as a Managing Director at investment banks Capstone Partners, DC Advisory and Progress Partners. As a banker, she represented Trusted Media Brands on its merger with Jukin Media; Outside (formerly Pocket Outdoor Media) on ten acquisitions, including Outside Magazine and Outside TV and Pinkbike, CyclingTips, Trailforks; and Wild Sky Media on its sale to Bright Mountain Media. Earlier she was President and COO of LittleThings, and held leadership roles at media companies including StyleCaster, Hearst, ESPN, WorkingWomanNetwork and Inc. Tibbits holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
