Knapton Returns to Rep Data Board

April 14 2025

In New Orleans, research data and fraud prevention solutions firm Rep Data has announced that long-time Research Now exec Kurt Knapton will return to its Board of Directors.

Kurt KnaptonRep Data was founded in 2019 by former Lucid and Research Now exec Patrick Stokes, and offers full service data collection solutions for primary quant studies. In the autumn of 2023 it acquired data quality and anti-fraud software platform Research Defender (previously SampleChain), which offers tools for matching respondents to relevant surveys and preventing sample fraud / duplication; and a month ago it revealed it had received an unspecified amount of growth investment from Colorado-based private equity firm Mountaingate Capital.

The company says Knapton (pictured) played a key role in its establishment in the market, in his first spell on the Board. He brings extensive experience of the industry, having been part of the management team that launched e-Rewards, which became Research Now (later merged with SSI and named Dynata), and became its President and CEO. He is currently CEO of Deep Cognition, an early-stage AI company, as well as an investor and strategic advisor at Realm Resources and a Board member at edify.org. He holds an MBA from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business and a BBA in Management from Baylor University.

'We are thrilled to welcome Kurt back to the Rep Data board,' comments Patrick Stokes, founder and CEO of Rep Data, who was hired by Knapton for his first job at Research Now. 'Kurt's strategic guidance has already had a profound impact on our business, and his deep industry expertise, coupled with his passion for innovation and service, makes him an invaluable partner as we enter this next chapter.'
